Head of Compliance Quality Assurance

What you will do

• Define the compliance monitoring strategy and annual monitoring plan for ING Belgium.
• Translate the strategy into individual risk-based monitoring missions and oversee their completion within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Monitor and challenge the effectiveness of the end-to-end Compliance Control Framework.
• Report compliance risks, track remediation actions, and support the quality enhancement of products and services.
• Manage stakeholders across business functions, second-line compliance teams, and Internal Audit.
• Lead, coach, evaluate, and provide feedback to compliance quality assurance teams in Belgium and international Compliance Hubs, including oversight of ING Luxembourg monitoring activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree.
• 10–15 years of experience in banking or internal audit.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills in English and French or Dutch.
• Professional scepticism, analytical and synthesis skills, flexibility, resilience, and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• People management skills and an interest in continuous learning.
• Proficiency in data analytics and willingness to travel.
