TL;DR
Sustainability Specialist (European Sustainability Compliance): Supporting sustainability and regulatory compliance initiatives across European legislation, including climate change, circular economy, ESG reporting, and sustainable procurement, with an accent on translating regulatory signals into operational actions. Focus on analyzing legislation, coordinating sustainability and supplier data, maintaining reporting dashboards and documentation, and strengthening audit-ready compliance processes.

What you will do

  • Monitor and interpret European sustainability and environmental legislation, translating regulatory signals into actionable business insights.
  • Support sustainability and product compliance programs related to CBAM, CSRD, EUDR, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and engage with relevant working groups focused on sustainability strategy in the construction and potable water industries.
  • Support EU sustainability and materials policy roadmaps and collaborate with product development initiatives across EMEA.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze sustainability and supplier data while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain sustainability reporting, dashboards, regulatory heatmaps, documentation, and audit-readiness tracking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in sustainability, compliance, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to interpret European sustainability legislation and translate it into operational business actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across international and cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with sustainability legislation assurance or advisory work.
  • Knowledge of another language.
