WAVY Unpaid Digital Intern (Digital Media)

Location: Portsmouth, Virginia, United States. Onsite, 12–15 hours per week; no telecommuting. The schedule varies from Sunday through Saturday and is arranged with the supervisor.

What you will do

• Write and edit content for the web.
• Produce multimedia stories about Hampton Roads.
• Assist with regular updates and emerging content for the station website.
• Create Facebook posts, tweets, and promotional content for news coverage.
• Learn how departments across a local television newsroom collaborate.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a college degree-granting program before the internship begins.
• Must provide proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program.
• Completed writing and editing courses.
• Working knowledge of WordPress, CMS platforms, and social media platforms.
• Availability for a varying schedule Sunday through Saturday.

Nice to have

• Completed videography coursework.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere.
• Passion for telling local stories.
