What you will do

  • Evaluate new food ingredients and technologies for compliance with applicable US and Canadian regulations.
  • Advise R&D, global procurement, and business stakeholders on ingredient safety, regulatory compliance, labeling, and intended use.
  • Provide input on ingredient specifications and determine appropriate labeling terms for finished products.
  • Resolve regulatory questions with suppliers during ingredient and formula reviews before approval and use.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory issues and participate in regional and global cross-functional innovation teams.
  • Oversee externally contracted ingredient safety evaluations with the Campbell toxicologist and maintain documentation supporting regulatory labeling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience, including internships and co-ops.
  • Knowledge of food regulatory issues and their potential impact on the food industry.
  • Familiarity with common food formulations and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific and regulatory information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience interacting with government officials on food regulatory matters.
  • Experience managing projects against timelines, budgets, and agreed success criteria.
  • Experience working on cross-functional innovation or commercialization teams.
