Aviation and Maritime Safety and Statistical Analysis Specialist

What you will do

• Advise on collecting, transforming, and analyzing quantitative air and marine safety and training data.
• Apply statistical techniques to test hypotheses related to safety, training, and proficiency.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, action plans, briefings, and performance metrics.
• Provide subject matter expertise for program evaluation and performance outcome measurement.
• Develop and implement the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System for aviation and maritime safety and training.
• Draft technical communiqués, safety and training directives, and other written communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a closely related discipline; applicable data analytics experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in statistical analysis, safety and training analysis, management consulting, performance metrics, or data analysis.
• Experience with Safety Management Systems, preferably in aviation and marine environments.
• Expertise in safety-related root cause analysis, risk assessment, and risk management.
• Experience with strategic planning, survey design, requirements analysis, analytical reporting, presentations, technical writing, and senior leader communications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint; positive adjudication from a CBP Background Investigation required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
• PMI Project Management Professional certification.
• Proficiency with SPSS, SAS, and database management applications.
