Director, Benefits

Location: Deerfield, Illinois, United States

Base salary: $140,000–$220,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead the design, evaluation, governance, and ongoing evolution of health, welfare, retirement, and wellbeing programs across the U.S. and Canada.
• Develop benefits recommendations using market trends, competitive benchmarking, financial analysis, employee needs, and business priorities.
• Improve benefits administration, service delivery, governance, enrollment execution, and employee experience.
• Manage relationships with brokers, consultants, actuaries, and benefits vendors, including plan performance, funding strategies, risk, and cost management.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and related federal, state, provincial, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop a team responsible for retirement programs, benefits operations, leave administration, analytics, and health and welfare administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in benefits design, administration, and management, including leadership of benefits or total rewards teams.
• Experience leading U.S. health and welfare benefits strategy, plan design, administration, and governance, plus experience supporting benefits programs in at least one additional geographic region.
• Experience with large-scale commercial HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
• Strong financial, analytical, communication, organizational, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality while managing complex benefits and regulatory matters.

Nice to have

• Benefits experience in a manufacturing or industrial organization.
• Experience with Workday and/or Businessolver.
