Subject Matter Expert Domain Expert - MENA (AI): Improving real-time AI models and intelligence alerts through expert analysis of Middle East and North Africa geopolitical events and regional data sources with an accent on data-feed quality, event interpretation, and human-AI feedback loops. Focus on making real-time decisions with incomplete information, developing AI tooling, and leading cross-team initiatives for real-time event detection.
Location: US remote or hybrid; core hours are 3:00pm–11:00pm Pacific Time, Sunday through Thursday. Rotational weekend work and meetings or projects outside business hours are required.

What you will do
- Provide subject-matter expertise on the Middle East and North Africa, regional geopolitical developments, and relevant data sources.
- Monitor and analyze data-feed quality and annotate, label, and edit real-time signals.
- Develop projects that improve AI-model performance, machine learning, and AI tooling for real-time event detection.
- Lead strategic initiatives across teams and address critical opportunities or issues.
- Make real-time decisions with incomplete data and support region-specific training across offices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate daily priorities in a team-centric environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in journalism, political science, Middle Eastern studies, security or conflict studies, or a related field.
- Professional experience using deep expertise related to the MENA region, preferably in a real-time information environment such as breaking-news desks, wire services, or GSOCs.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required, including the ability to interpret and succinctly describe complex ongoing events with incomplete data.
- Fluency with AI tools and large language models, including experience using them to solve problems and improve workflows.
- Ability to adapt, manage competing priorities, and work effectively in fast-paced and evolving scenarios.
- Strong interest in breaking news, current events, technology, social media, and publicly available data.

- Knowledge of Farsi, Hebrew, or Turkish.
