Mechanical Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; applicants must be based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom

Salary: $40–$125+ per hour, depending on task difficulty and specialization.

What you will do

• Write challenging, closed-ended mechanical engineering problems that require practical engineering reasoning.
• Derive and verify correct answers, documenting clear worked solutions.
• Test problems against AI systems and refine them to expose reasoning weaknesses.
• Review AI-generated engineering analyses, designs, and technical documentation for correctness and real-world applicability.
• Review other contributors’ problems and solutions for rigor, accuracy, and ambiguity.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in design, product development, manufacturing, thermal, structural, automotive, aerospace, HVAC, robotics, energy, or a related field.
• Fluency in relevant tools such as CAD, FEA/CFD, or MATLAB/Python for engineering analysis.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials, dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to write precise technical problems and clear worked solutions in fluent written English.
• A completed or in-progress bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Applicants must be based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Expertise in mechanical design and CAD, structures and materials, thermal and fluids, dynamics and controls, or manufacturing.
