Drug Discovery Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote; must be based in the United States, Canada, or the UK. Ireland and Australia may also be accepted.

Salary: $40–$75+ per hour, depending on task difficulty and specialization.

What you will do

• Design realistic drug-discovery and preclinical tasks based on practical workflows, including assay tables, SAR spreadsheets, DMPK summaries, study reports, and program-review materials.
• Run tasks through frontier AI agents and evaluate outputs such as decision memos, screening workbooks, and toxicology summaries.
• Write grading rubrics covering compound advancement, liability detection, calculations, and scientific reasoning.
• Document concrete model failures, including misread assay data, unsupported SAR conclusions, incorrect PK interpretation, unit errors, and missed safety liabilities.
• Contribute expertise in medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, assay development, DMPK, PK/PD, ADME, preclinical safety, translational science, biologics, advanced modalities, or CMC.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in drug discovery or preclinical work after undergraduate study.
• Depth in at least one relevant area, such as medicinal chemistry and SAR, computational chemistry and CADD, assay development, DMPK, PK/PD, ADME, toxicology, translational science, protein or antibody engineering, cell and gene therapy, CMC, or formulation.
• Experience across the drug-discovery process, from target validation and hit finding through hit-to-lead, lead optimization, candidate selection, and IND-enabling studies.
• Hands-on bench or analytical experience; management-only experience is not sufficient.
• Master’s degree, PhD, or current PhD candidacy in biology, chemistry, pharmacology, or a related field, completed in the U.S., Canada, Europe, or the UK.
• Clear written English and residence in the United States, Canada, the UK, Ireland, or Australia are required. Familiarity with AI or LLM tools such as Claude or ChatGPT is expected.
