Integration Engineer (Manufacturing Systems)

Location: Los Angeles, United States; work arrangement: on-site. Employment requires authorization to work in the U.S.; onboarding includes E-Verify and Form I-9 verification.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity.

Builds the ION Factory OS, a manufacturing operations platform for companies developing rockets, satellites, eVTOLs, clean energy systems, robots, and autonomous vehicles.

What you will do

• Own customer integrations from discovery and requirements through architecture, estimation, implementation, testing, go-live, documentation, and handoff.
• Translate manufacturing processes involving parts, BOMs, purchase orders, inventory, work orders, quality, and engineering changes into production-ready integration designs.
• Decide whether to build integrations directly, reuse connectors, enable customer teams, or engage systems integration partners.
• Operate reliable production integrations with monitoring, alerting, retries, reconciliation, auditability, and incident response.
• Turn implementation knowledge into reusable connectors, reference architectures, test harnesses, runbooks, and documentation.
• Identify recurring gaps in ION APIs, eventing, and data models and collaborate with Product and Engineering on platform improvements.

Requirements

• 6+ years of customer-facing or delivery-oriented engineering experience in solutions architecture, integration engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or technical consulting.
• Production coding experience and ownership of at least one complex enterprise integration from initial discovery through reliable operation.
• Strong API integration experience with REST or GraphQL, webhooks, authentication protocols, asynchronous processing, and data transformation.
• Understanding of distributed-systems practices including idempotency, ordering, retries, reconciliation, and observability.
• Ability to define technical plans with customer manufacturing or IT teams and clearly communicate architecture, tradeoffs, and risks.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP, PLM, MES, procurement, finance, or warehouse platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics 365, Teamcenter, Arena, Duro, or SolidWorks PDM.
• Experience with integration platforms or middleware including Prismatic, Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato, or Informatica.
• Experience building connectors, SDKs, or developer documentation used by other teams.
• Knowledge of SSO/OAuth, audit requirements, regulated or on-premise environments, and restricted networks.
• Background in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing.
