Sr Spec., Production Planning (Demand Planner / SIOP) (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Anaheim, California, United States — on-site. The role includes approximately 10% occasional travel to various sites.

Salary: $79,000–$147,000 per year.

What you will do

• Coordinate demand data collection, consolidation, and analysis across multiple manufacturing sites and cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain an 18–24-month demand plan using sales orders, customer forecasts, market trends, and historical data.
• Prepare for and lead monthly SIOP meetings, aligning demand and supply plans with business priorities and operational capabilities.
• Monitor demand changes, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend inventory and production planning adjustments.
• Collaborate with Business Development, PMO, Engineering, and other stakeholders to understand customer requirements and upcoming opportunities.
• Create planning reports and metrics while improving demand planning accuracy, efficiency, and processes across multiple sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of related experience, master’s degree with 4+ years, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 4 years of experience in planning, operations, manufacturing, or supply chain, including 2+ years in demand planning.
• At least 4 years of experience with SIOP processes and principles.
• At least 4 years using ERP systems, specifically Deltek Costpoint, for demand and inventory management.
• At least 2 years of experience with supply chain best practices, inventory optimization, risk management, and demand planning software.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.

Nice to have

• Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Aerospace and defense industry knowledge, including regulations, market dynamics, and customer requirements.
• Experience with IPT requirements, MRP systems, master scheduling, capacity planning, production planning, or inventory management.
• APICS/ASCM certification such as CPIM or CSCP.
