Technical Cloud Architect (Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: United States; hybrid work with an average requirement of 2 days per week from an HPE office

Salary: USD 160,000–303,000 annual base salary in Colorado, or USD 152,000–349,000 annual base salary in Texas

What you will do

• Advise large strategic customers on KVM virtualization and cloud infrastructure architecture.
• Design and execute technical proofs of concept in customer environments.
• Create design guides and reference architectures for deployment, scaling, and operations.
• Provide structured customer feedback to engineering and help influence the product roadmap.
• Collaborate with sales, product management, customer success, and engineering throughout the technical sales cycle.

Requirements

• Production experience with KVM-based hypervisor platforms and related virtualization ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Experience with observability, software-defined networking, and hyperconverged infrastructure storage.
• Deep experience with VMware, Red Hat, Nutanix, or hyperscaler platforms.
• Experience conducting customer-facing proofs of concept and writing technical documentation or design guides.
• Strong communication skills with engineering and executive audiences, plus effective cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCA, VCAP/VCDX, Nutanix NCA/NCX, or equivalent.
• Background in solutions architecture, technical field engineering, or customer-facing pre-sales.
