Junior Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid-remote with onsite attendance in Suitland, Maryland once or twice per month as needed. United States citizenship is required, and standard business hours align with the Eastern Time Zone.

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop and maintain full-stack enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Build RESTful web services, APIs, data persistence, database integrations, and external interfaces.
• Support the Oracle-to-PostgreSQL cloud migration, including application updates, testing, troubleshooting, and migration development.
• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment processes using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and functional tests using tools such as Playwright, Xray, and QMetry.
• Support AWS-based containerized infrastructure, application analytics, secure deployments, and troubleshooting across environments.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance and must be a United States citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of software development experience supporting enterprise applications through the full SDLC.
• Professional experience with Java Spring, RESTful services or microservices, relational databases, SQL, and web-based applications.
• Experience with AWS deployments, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions or Jenkins, Git, Docker or Kubernetes, and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hibernate, Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration, IBM Cognos Analytics, Playwright, Xray, or QMetry.
• Experience with enterprise analytics and reporting platforms.
