Software Test Engineer Intern

Location: Fully onsite in San Diego, California

Salary: $28–$34 per hour

What you will do

• Integrate and test software solutions across the Integrated Mission Systems business area.
• Provide structured feedback to developers to improve software quality, performance, and integration with other system components.
• Gather user requirements, define system functionality, and develop test plans for integrated applications.
• Test code written in Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript across Linux and Windows environments.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and integration engineers and subject matter experts to deliver robust technical solutions.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, data science, cybersecurity, mathematics, aeronautical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Completed coursework or experience in application development with Java or C++ in a Linux or Windows environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Ability to work fully onsite in San Diego, California.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience applying AI/ML tools to practical use cases.
• Experience with Git or SVN and version-control workflows for complex software projects.
• Familiarity with computer networking and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, CORBA, or DDS.
• Experience with Kubernetes or Docker; current college junior or rising senior status.
