Senior Accountant

Location: Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $133,000–$186,000 USD per year base salary, plus potential equity.

Defense technology company designing and manufacturing high-performance unmanned systems for large-scale deployment.

What you will do

• Own month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reserves, balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and financial statement delivery.
• Manage the full AP and AR cycles, including invoice coding, customer billing, cash application, reconciliations, aging, and cash targets.
• Prepare audit schedules, technical support, and documentation while serving as a primary contact for external auditors.
• Build repeatable accounting processes and internal controls in preparation for SOX compliance.
• Drive automation and process improvements across close and transactional workflows.
• Partner with FP&A, Operations, and Supply Chain on special projects, systems work, and ad hoc analysis.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years of Big Four public accounting audit experience.
• CPA license, or CPA eligibility with active pursuit of certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with US GAAP, end-to-end month-end close ownership, and accounting infrastructure in a high-growth or recently public company.
• Experience with a mid-market or enterprise ERP, preferably NetSuite, plus advanced Excel skills.
• Exposure to SOX, internal controls over financial reporting, executive communication, and external audit support.

Nice to have

• Experience with IPO readiness, an S-1 process, PCAOB-standard audits, or public-company reporting infrastructure.
• Inventory and cost accounting experience in hardware, manufacturing, or physical-product businesses.
• Experience implementing or migrating an ERP or automating close and transactional processes.
