Building Services Manager (Facilities Management)

Location: hirify.global Vancouver Campus, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; onsite role

Salary: CAD 7,727.33–11,112.00 per month

What you will do

• Oversee custodial, housekeeping, building services, grounds, and facility-support operations across student housing and community spaces.
• Develop schedules and work assignments while monitoring service standards, staffing levels, labor costs, and operational targets.
• Manage Building Services Supervisors, Housekeepers, Service Workers, and Utility Workers, including recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, and termination processes.
• Inspect buildings and grounds, investigate service concerns, coordinate corrective actions, and maintain departmental assets, supplies, equipment, and keys.
• Coordinate renovations, preventive and corrective maintenance, pest control, landscaping, equipment repair, carpet cleaning, and waste management with campus partners and contractors.
• Prepare budgets, monitor expenses, analyze productivity and materials costs, and recommend improvements, repairs, furniture upgrades, and renovation projects.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline; a building services management or hotel management program is preferred.
• At least four years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, custodial equipment, supplies, and safe work methods.
• Experience leading and supervising a large, diverse workforce and the ability to plan, delegate, prioritize, motivate, coach, and train employees.
• Fluent spoken and written English required.
• Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; a valid British Columbia Class 5 driver's licence and clean driving record are required. Must be bondable and able to pass a satisfactory criminal record check.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in hotel or student residence housekeeping services.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.
