Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Cologne, Germany; remote work possible. Work from home can be arranged, including up to 20 days per year anywhere in the EU.

What you will do

• Build, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure platform infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Operate and continuously improve Azure Databricks, including configuration, automation, monitoring, access management, and troubleshooting.
• Operate and scale the Azure Kubernetes-based platform using GitOps and CI/CD workflows.
• Develop reusable automation and self-service capabilities for engineering, Data, and AI teams.
• Monitor platform health, investigate incidents, resolve standard operational issues, and escalate complex problems.
• Collaborate with Platform, Data, AI, MLOps, and Security colleagues on architecture, documentation, and technical improvements.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and core cloud concepts including compute, networking, storage, identity, and security.
• Practical experience with containers, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, deployment pipelines, and Git-based delivery workflows.
• Experience with logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving common production or platform issues independently.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, Go, or Shell for infrastructure automation and platform tooling.
• Familiarity with Azure Databricks or similar Data and AI platforms, plus a basic understanding of Data, Machine Learning, or AI workloads.
• Fluent English is required; German is a plus.
