Overhaul & Repair Team Leader (Jenbacher Gas Engines): Leading engineers through major overhauls, repairs, refurbishment, and decoking of Jenbacher gas engines across the Knowsley centre and customer sites, with an accent on technical quality, safety, planning, and team development. Focus on diagnosing complex engine issues, coordinating materials and project schedules, managing customer relationships, and delivering overhaul work to specification.
Location: Knowsley, with extensive UK travel and occasional overseas requirements

What you will do
- Lead and supervise overhaul, repair, refurbishment, and decoking work on Jenbacher gas engines.
- Provide technical guidance, diagnose issues, evaluate variations, and support hands-on overhaul activities.
- Manage team performance, coaching, development discussions, training needs, and first-stage employee support.
- Act as the primary customer contact and coordinate with project teams, area managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor quality, safety, schedules, labour budgets, materials, scope changes, and project documentation.
- Deliver toolbox talks and ensure compliance with company and customer health, safety, environmental, and site requirements.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with reciprocating gas engines and generating equipment.
- Proven experience leading or supervising engineering teams and delivering engine overhaul or repair projects.
- Strong technical understanding of engine overhaul activities, with Jenbacher experience preferred.
- Ability to diagnose technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence, Category B, and availability for extensive UK travel.
Nice to have
- Experience in a workshop, overhaul, or service engineering environment.
- Knowledge of Jenbacher and Clarke Energy P&IDs.
- IT skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience acting as lead engineer on customer-facing projects.
