Senior Cloud DBA Engineer (PostgreSQL & AWS RDS)

What you will do

• Deploy, operate, and maintain customer-hosted databases and AWS RDS services.
• Administer AWS environments, perform health and availability checks, configure alerts, and monitor CloudWatch and Performance Insights.
• Manage backups, restores, snapshots, maintenance jobs, patching, upgrades, and database capacity and performance.
• Investigate and resolve operational incidents, including batch failures, network issues, data feed errors, locking, and corruption.
• Prepare, test, and execute T-SQL and PowerShell scripts and compare RDS configurations with Terraform code.
• Provide 24x7 production support, participate in the on-call rotation, and maintain documentation with a global database team.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience as a DBA, including at least 6 years of relevant experience managing multiple database engines.
• Hands-on experience with multiple PostgreSQL versions is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud and AWS RDS.
• Basic coding skills in PowerShell, Python, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of AWS automated backups, historical backup timing checks, and ad-hoc snapshots.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, plus understanding of ITIL practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Aurora, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of storage, backup, operating systems, automation tools, cloud solutions, or additional database technologies.
