Senior Software Engineer, Integrations and Internal Systems (AI)

Location: Remote for candidates based in California, Maine, Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Illinois, New York, Missouri, or Massachusetts

Salary: $144,000–$185,000 per year, plus annual incentive target and equity.

What you will do

• Maintain, enhance, simplify, and consolidate integrations connecting NetSuite, HighJump, the data warehouse, and adjacent systems.
• Build Grove Brain, an internal MCP layer with connectors and tools that let agents act on Grove systems.
• Design and implement authentication, access control, and auditing for agents operating on production systems.
• Support teams with integration and agent-tooling problems, including connectors, permissions, and technical feasibility.
• Use AI tooling in daily development while maintaining code quality, performance, stability, and maintainability.
• Make practical decisions about whether problems require software changes or business-process improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and operating production system integrations between platforms such as ERP and WMS systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including pipeline design, debugging, and production problem-solving.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and ideally agent frameworks or MCP.
• Experience with Airflow, Airbyte, or similar data-pipeline infrastructure.
• Ability to work from an incomplete specification, build solutions directly, and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly.
• Must be based in one of the twelve listed US states.

Nice to have

• Experience building or contributing to an MCP server or similar agent-tooling layer.
• Experience rebuilding integrations from a legacy iPaaS.
• Experience with NetSuite or HighJump integrations.
• Experience setting up authentication, access control, or auditing for AI agents.
• Experience at a fast-growing ecommerce company.
