Engineering Technician-Weekend Nights (Additive Manufacturing)

Location: Devens, MA, United States. Onsite weekend night schedule: Friday–Sunday and every other Thursday, 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.

Hourly pay: Level 1 $20–$28; Level 2 $25–$34; Level 3 $30–$42, plus a 15% pay differential for applicable shifts outside standard base-pay shifts.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and perform daily maintenance on laser powder bed fusion printers.
• Prepare print jobs using internal printer software, including build setup, file preparation, and parameter selection.
• Execute print builds for applications development, production development, customer commitments, and qualification runs.
• Support printer installation, qualification, and validation activities, including IQ, SAT, OQ, and PQ print execution and documentation.
• Monitor print quality and investigate machine, material, and process-parameter issues.
• Maintain traceable build records and collaborate with applications, process, and manufacturing engineers to improve workflows and efficiency.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or a hands-on production environment.
• Familiarity with 3D printing or additive manufacturing concepts.
• Comfort working with technical software and following detailed work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to execute repeatable processes.
• Willingness to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment and learn complex equipment.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with metal additive manufacturing systems such as EOS, SLM, Renishaw, or similar.
• Experience with printer qualification, validation, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of print parameters, material behavior, or post-processing workflows.
• Experience supporting applications development, prototyping, or early production builds.
