Intern, Software Engineer (Defense Tech)

What you will do

• Develop embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment.
• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical concepts to software development.
• Analyze requirements and design interfaces between hardware and software.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
• Create software test procedures, programs, and technical documentation.
• Participate in peer reviews, identify defects, and support defect resolution.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, wireless engineering, information security, mathematics, digital arts and sciences, or a related field.
• Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Qt, or Python.
• Understanding of embedded systems, real-time controls, software development, or software testing.
• Ability to work with Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, or embedded real-time operating systems.
• Security clearances may require U.S. citizenship; background checks and pre-employment substance abuse testing may apply where permitted by law.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTOS platforms such as VxWorks, QNX, Integrity, or Windows CE.
• Knowledge of .NET, Unix, SOA, wireless technologies, software security, robotics, Android, Hadoop, or embedded systems.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis and design or real-time control systems.
