Manager, Manufacturing Engineering CR (Medical Devices)

Location: Alajuela, Costa Rica; onsite manufacturing role

What you will do

• Direct, coordinate, and plan current and new manufacturing processes in line with quality requirements, FDA guidelines, and ISO regulations.
• Lead problem-solving teams and provide subject-matter expertise to production, quality, calibration, and manufacturing engineering groups.
• Develop risk analyses, protocols, validation reports, procedures, and quality documentation for processes, equipment, and fixtures.
• Lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, scrap reduction, rework reduction, and cost control.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams, GEMBA activities, action plans, CAPA-related engineering actions, and quality issue resolution.
• Train manufacturing engineers and GEMBA staff on process knowledge, investigation methods, and acceptance criteria for materials and products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial, Materials, Chemical, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is desirable.
• At least 5 years of professional technical experience in similar positions or at least 4 years of experience in the medical industry.
• English at B2 level or higher.
• Knowledge of project administration or management, OPEX, and advanced statistics; Black Belt or CQE knowledge is desirable.
• Knowledge of ISO 50001 energy management systems is desirable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Minitab, Project Manager, and Visio.
