Prin Reliability Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Alajuela Coyol, Alajuela, Costa Rica

Salary range for U.S. locations: $132,000–$198,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain quality and reliability systems for machining, metal finishing, and assembly processes.
• Conduct reliability studies, design evaluations, design of experiments, risk analyses, and PFMEA-based process improvements.
• Review engineering drawings with R&D and update gauging, inspection, and process-control procedures.
• Analyze process statistics, performance reports, failure risks, and variables affecting product and process reliability.
• Design and improve gauges, fixtures, environmental testing plans, and inspection methods.
• Coach engineers and team members, train employees and suppliers, and support supplier quality reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 3+ years.
• Advanced English proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel.
• Experience with reliability engineering, statistical process control, risk analysis, and design of experiments.
• For bachelor's degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy the stated U.S. regulatory equivalency requirements.

Nice to have

• Medical device industry experience.
• ASQ-CQE, GD&T, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
• Experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical and reliability analysis software.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
