TL;DR
Spacecraft Electrical Systems Lead (Aerospace): Developing and integrating spacecraft and payload electrical architectures across the full mission lifecycle with an accent on avionics architecture, system interfaces, requirements engineering, and supplier coordination. Focus on electrical analyses, verification and validation strategies, multidisciplinary technical leadership, and resolving integration and test anomalies through launch and in-orbit commissioning.

What you will do

  • Own spacecraft and payload electrical architectures from concept and requirements definition through integration, launch, and operations.
  • Coordinate electrical engineering activities and technical interfaces across subsystems, software, suppliers, customers, and project stakeholders.
  • Define and maintain electrical interface definitions, ICDs, harness architectures, grounding and bonding concepts, and EMC requirements.
  • Perform power, voltage drop, grounding, EMC, and fault analyses, and review supplier electrical designs and verification evidence.
  • Define electrical verification, validation, integration, and test strategies, including ground support and test equipment planning.
  • Support electrical integration, troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, product assurance, launch preparation, LEOP, and in-orbit commissioning.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience in the space industry, in systems, avionics, data handling, or power electronics.
  • Experience with system-level requirements, interfaces, ICDs, technical documentation, and spacecraft equipment suppliers.
  • Previous active contribution to formal program reviews such as PDR and CDR.
  • Experience leading technical activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing multiple technical topics in parallel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively beyond the immediate area of expertise.

Nice to have

  • Detailed knowledge of electronics analysis, design, build, and test.
  • Hands-on electronics design, testing, and fault diagnosis experience.
  • Experience with ECSS, MIL, and other common space standards and their tailoring.
  • Experience with EMC constraints and mitigation measures.
  • Experience working with institutional customers such as ESA or the UK Space Agency.
