Software Engineer, Developer Tools (TypeScript/Node.js)

Location: Fully remote, based in the Americas or European timezones; occasional travel is expected for team offsites, conferences, and meetups.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 USD annually, commensurate with location and experience.

What you will do

• Build and maintain developer tools across SDKs, React Email, CLI, MCP, integrations, and supporting backend services.
• Collaborate with product squads on API contracts and consistent behavior across SDKs, CLI, MCP, and documentation.
• Build interfaces that developers and agents use to work with hirify.global.
• Maintain compatibility, testing, releases, upgrades, and shared tooling for reliable delivery.
• Work directly with developers through support, GitHub issues, and pull requests.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience building and maintaining production APIs or services.
• Professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, retries, idempotency, rate limits, and partial failures.
• Experience building software that other developers depend on, with attention to interface design, clear errors, documentation, and backward compatibility.
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems, follow through after release, communicate clearly, and take ownership.
• Availability to work remotely from the Americas or European timezones.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining an open source project or working with external contributors.
• Experience building SDKs, command-line tools, MCP servers, or platform integrations.
• Experience with React or frontend build tooling.
• Experience operating systems with queues, monitoring, and error recovery.
• Experience with email development or interest in learning the space.
