Senior Backend Engineer

Location: Barcelona, Spain (hybrid); 104 remote days per year after probation under the hybrid policy. Relocation support includes paperwork assistance, travel, and one month of furnished accommodation.

What you will do

• Build scalable hiring-platform features with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps/platform teams.
• Improve platform architecture, performance, quality, and user experience.
• Define technical requirements and select solutions aligned with team goals.
• Conduct peer code reviews and participate in Agile SDLC/Kanban and engineering retrospectives.
• Contribute to testing, automation, coding standards, clean architecture, code generation, linters, and templates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• 2+ years of experience with a strongly typed language or TypeScript.
• Strong experience with relational database management systems, using raw queries or an ORM.
• Solid experience with unit and integration testing.
• Experience with message brokers such as SNS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Google Pub/Sub.

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js, GraphQL, GCP or AWS, gRPC, and protobufs.
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles.

Hiring process

• Introductory call of approximately 30 minutes.
• Hiring manager profile review and interview focused on technical and team fit.
• Technical interview lasting approximately 60–120 minutes, followed by an optional team meeting.
