Wastewater Technician I

Location: Dolton, Illinois, USA; on-site role. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Salary: $22.79–$30.38 per hour

What you will do

• Perform basic chemical analyses, including pH, flash point, FOG, solids, and ammonia testing.
• Sample tanker trucks and containers and assign waste stream treatment codes.
• Connect hoses and unload tanker trucks using basic oil-line and wastewater-treatment-line operations.
• Direct and assist with sludge transfer and dewatering systems.
• Operate pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, pumps, hoses, and valves in accordance with safety procedures.
• Complete regulatory and safety documentation.

Requirements

• Entry-level experience; less than one year of experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, bend, and twist for extended periods and lift or carry more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test and work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varied weather conditions.
• Experience with NetSuite and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
