Data Risk & Governance Lead (Data Governance/Cloud Platforms): Leading the UK data governance framework and building practical controls, policies, and platform guardrails across a newly merged telecommunications organisation with an accent on data risk, access management, and governance adoption. Focus on implementing controls across GCP, Collibra, Satori, Dataplex, enterprise data warehouses, and BI platforms, while automating governance processes and aligning risk priorities with business value.
Location: Newbury, United Kingdom; hybrid with office attendance 2–3 days per week and at least 8 days per month

What you will do
- Lead execution of the UK data governance framework and ensure appropriate data access and controls.
- Translate data risks into practical governance standards, policies, and platform guardrails.
- Implement and drive adoption of governance controls across GCP, EDW, Satori, Collibra, Dataplex, Tableau, and Strategy.
- Develop scalable data ownership models and align governance priorities with business value and commercial outcomes.
- Collaborate with Privacy, Legal, Cyber Security, Data Platform, Analytics, Commercial, Marketing, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Deliver automation initiatives, monitor governance performance, and improve policy adoption, workflow automation, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in data governance, data management, or data risk within a complex enterprise environment.
- Experience designing, implementing, or evolving data governance frameworks and integrating them into large-scale data initiatives.
- Experience with federated governance models, organisational change, governance guardrails, and access management.
- Understanding of Collibra, Satori, GCP IAM, Dataplex, enterprise data warehouses, and BI platforms.
- Ability to analyse risk and convert complex requirements into clear controls, standards, and operating practices.
- Strong stakeholder influence, collaboration, independent delivery, and ability to connect governance with measurable business outcomes.
