Senior Project Engineer (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Schaffhausen, Switzerland; onsite role with occasional regional travel of less than 10%

Johnson & Johnson operates a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Schaffhausen that produces pharmaceutical products, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and medical devices for global markets.

What you will do

• Lead engineering project management and execution for aseptic fill-finish operations.
• Contribute to the design, installation, and qualification of production equipment, infrastructure, and utilities.
• Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with EHS, environmental, regulatory, cGMP, and site procedures.
• Collaborate with Business Units, QA, EHS&S, sustainability, and global engineering stakeholders.
• Develop business cases to support project funding approvals.
• Manage multiple engineering issues and projects while maintaining high execution standards.

Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of related experience and a proven track record in project engineering within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
• Familiarity with project management approaches, engineering processes, and design thinking methodology.
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, with exceptional communication skills.
• Strong organization, communication, collaboration, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, set targets, influence stakeholders, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Certification or experience in FPX or Lean processes.
• Experience with coaching, CAPA, feasibility studies, Lean supply chain management, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and supply planning.
