Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Wyoming, Michigan, United States; hybrid schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with on-call support.

What you will do

• Develop, modify, test, maintain, and support software applications and components.
• Design and implement conversational and agentic solutions using AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Drive adoption of AI development tools, custom skills, CLIs, and MCP servers across engineering teams.
• Analyze business systems, estimate work, resolve failures, and ensure reliable system performance.
• Establish coding standards, facilitate code reviews, and coordinate development efforts.
• Mentor associate and intermediate software engineers and support technical delivery.

Requirements

• Five or more years of related software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java, backend object-oriented frameworks, dependency injection, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST APIs, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, prioritization, and independent working skills.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems aligned with organizational objectives.

Nice to have

• AI-assisted engineering workflows using custom skills, CLIs, or MCP servers.
• Python for scripting or AI and agentic development.
• Cloud and containerized development with GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman.
• Dialogflow CX, Actions on Google, conversational or voice AI, or MCP server deployment experience.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript, Angular, or React.
