TL;DR
Test Operations Electrical Technician II/III (Aerospace): Building and operating electrical, instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems for the Archimedes rocket engine and Neutron launch vehicle test facility with an accent on high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems. Focus on calibrating and functionally testing facility systems, activating a new test shop and control room, and coordinating safe engine test operations.

Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, United States; onsite work at hirify.global's test facility

What you will do

  • Build facility systems including IT systems, data acquisition hardware, PLC and control-system hardware, instrumentation, wiring, conduit, cameras, and communications equipment.
  • Check out, calibrate, and functionally test instrumentation and control systems for high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems.
  • Help design, build, activate, and operate the Neutron test facility and support Archimedes engine testing.
  • Set up a new shop, specify tools and equipment, build inventory, and help establish the test facility control room.
  • Lead and collaborate with technicians and engineers while maintaining constant communication during test activities.
  • Follow electrical, data acquisition, safety, integrity, and cleanliness standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Level II: 2+ years of experience in test operations or in designing, building, and activating test facilities.
  • Level III: 5+ years of experience in test operations or in designing, building, and activating test facilities.
  • For work in the United States, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required ITAR authorizations.
  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals, wear required PPE, lift up to 25 pounds unassisted, and perform physically demanding activities including climbing, crawling, bending, and working in tight spaces.

Nice to have

  • Experience operating or building large industrial facilities.
  • Technical degree, license, A&P certification, or similar post-secondary education.
  • Experience with rocket engines, launch vehicles, aerospace hardware, liquid oxygen, or liquid methane facilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems and develop corrective work instructions.
  • Basic experience with MS Office, email, JIRA, or Confluence.
