Senior Cost Estimator/Analyst, Commodity Subject Matter Experts (six areas) (Aerospace)

Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States, with occasional travel to the National Capital Region.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Lead or support targeted cost, schedule, and technical studies across Air Force and Space Force weapon systems.
• Collect, normalize, and analyze programmatic, technical, and operating-support cost data.
• Identify cost drivers across acquisition and operations and support phases.
• Develop and review cost-estimating relationships, methods, tools, and commodity benchmarks.
• Advise data scientists on mapping commodity data into enterprise data environments and aligning work breakdown structures.
• Lead research teams and confirm that study results are usable by working cost estimators.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of cost analysis experience.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience with the Department of War, Air Force, Space Force, Intelligence Community, Navy, Army, Missile Defense Agency, or another defense organization.
• Expertise in Air Force weapon systems and their programmatic and technical cost drivers.
• Experience collecting and normalizing government cost, technical, and programmatic data, including cost and software data reports, integrated program management reports, contract performance reports, and operating-support cost systems.
• Ability to lead cost research teams, analyze data, and develop cost-estimating methods and tools.
• Active Secret clearance required at hire and United States citizenship required.

Nice to have

• Air Force, Space Force, or Intelligence Community experience.
• Acquisition Category I threshold-level cost analysis experience in aircraft, space and launch systems, tactical missiles and munitions, ballistic missiles, software programs, or acquisition program operations and support.
• Experience with C4ISR or cyber systems.
• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
