Senior Data Engineer (Data Foundations)

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and drive the transition to a new data platform based on Dagster, dbt, AWS ECS, and Google BigQuery.
• Develop platform tooling for monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost control, testing, CI/CD, and data cataloging.
• Maintain and optimize high-volume, business-critical ELT pipelines moving terabytes of data from MySQL in AWS to BigQuery.
• Implement daytime synchronization while avoiding performance impact on source systems.
• Own critical reports used for executive board decisions and as foundations for data teams across the business.

Requirements

• Substantial hands-on experience in data engineering and software engineering, especially with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
• Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms that enable other engineering teams.
• Practical experience with Dagster, dbt, Google BigQuery, and AWS ECS.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including CI/CD, testing, best practices, and design patterns.
• Expert-level SQL and Python skills, plus knowledge of Docker and Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Business-fluent English and the ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
