Data Engineer (AWS Redshift/dbt)

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany, with two work-from-home days as the standard setup. Relocation support to Berlin is available.

What you will do

• Own ingestion from product, billing, CRM, support, and analytics systems using Airbyte and custom Python.
• Design dbt models that transform raw data into documented, reliable gold tables for Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Product.
• Operate Dagster orchestration with schedules, dependencies, freshness checks, and alerting.
• Build data quality through dbt tests, source checks, and CI workflows.
• Capture historical states and customer history that are not retained by source systems.
• Manage Redshift performance and costs, AWS infrastructure in Terraform, access controls, and Hightouch reverse ETL syncs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and operating production data pipelines, ideally in a SaaS company.
• Experience owning a data platform or a substantial part of one and making architecture decisions independently.
• Strong SQL and dbt skills, including layered models, testing, and documentation.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses; AWS Redshift is preferred, while BigQuery or Snowflake is also suitable.
• Experience with reliability practices such as freshness checks, idempotent loads, backfills, and monitoring.
• Ability to work regularly from the Berlin office in a hybrid setup.

Nice to have

• Experience with subscription billing or product usage data.
• Experience with Chargebee, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Intercom, Amplitude, or similar business systems.
