Profee Audit Specialist (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Perform professional fee coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and relevant coding references.
• Document clear rationales for audit findings, including supporting documentation and references.
• Provide coder education through the auditing process and address customer consulting and educational needs.
• Monitor regulatory changes and identify solutions for customer coding and compliance issues.
• Organize and prioritize multiple cases while supporting workflow and timely case resolution.
• Maintain professional, efficient, customer-focused service and follow AHIMA’s code of ethics.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States; the role is fully remote.
• 5+ years of professional fee coding and/or auditing experience.
• Current CPC certification required.
• Ability to maintain a 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent electronic medical record systems.
• Strong organizational, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, and customer-service skills.

Nice to have

• CPMA certification.
• Experience working across multiple medical specialties.
• Availability during normal business hours, preferably for approximately 20 hours per week.
