Pharmacy Technician III-Central Operations, Full-time Rotating Shift

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, Illinois, United States. Full-time onsite role with rotating AM and PM shifts, every-other-weekend coverage, one winter holiday, and one summer holiday. The role is primarily based in the Feinberg 9th floor pharmacy and may rotate to other hirify.global pharmacies.

Salary: $23.65–$30.43 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare inpatient medication orders, outpatient prescriptions, unit doses, and floor-stock requisitions.
• Prepare sterile products, IV admixtures, cytotoxic agents, compounded dosage forms, and STAT medications using required aseptic and protective procedures.
• Deliver medications to nursing units and other clinical locations while coordinating intravenous admixture schedules with patient medication records.
• Enter and maintain medication orders, refill information, dispensing records, and computerized patient profiles.
• Manage emergency medication systems, inventory levels, narcotic deliveries, and perpetual controlled-substance inventories.
• Reconcile medication records, report discrepancies to pharmacists, and follow medication and hazardous-waste handling procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician License issued by IDFPR.
• CPhT certification through PTCB or ExCPT certification through NHA is required for technicians licensed after 2008.
• Newly licensed technicians must obtain certification within two years of the license effective date.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week on rotating AM and PM shifts, including scheduled weekends and holidays.

Nice to have

• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
