Plant Manager - Monomer & Polymer (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Warrington, UK; onsite responsibility across the Monomer Plant, including the Boiler Plant, and the Polymer Plant.

What you will do

• Lead continuous production teams across the Monomer and Polymer plants, which operate 24/7.
• Own the timely, cost-effective manufacture and delivery of products in line with production schedules, customer requirements, and SHEQ standards.
• Drive safety, process safety, quality, incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs.
• Manage production plans, plant issues, planned downtime, plant improvements, throughput, and production availability.
• Develop operating-team capability through coaching, training, performance management, and resource planning.
• Deputise for the Site Operations Manager and support cross-functional alignment and operational decision-making.

Requirements

• Strong experience in 24/7 chemical plant operations and technical team management, including shift teams.
• HND or degree in engineering or a related subject.
• Experience leading SHE activities and understanding relevant legislation, standards, and safe systems of work.
• Knowledge of quality systems and standards, including ISO 9001 or GMP.
• Experience handling highly hazardous materials such as hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder-management, and autonomous decision-making skills.
