Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

Location: Remote worldwide, with relocation support to Hamburg, Germany

What you will do

• Build and operate Go microservices powering real-time advertising decisions and campaign distribution.
• Process clicks, views, MMP postbacks from Adjust and AppsFlyer, and in-app events that trigger user rewards.
• Design asynchronous event pipelines with Kafka, SNS, SQS, and Kinesis for billions of daily API events.
• Optimize queries and APIs across DynamoDB, MySQL, Druid, Athena, and hundreds of terabytes of data.
• Develop transparent, well-documented APIs for enterprise partners.
• Work with Data Science to integrate machine learning algorithms into real-time ad targeting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years writing Go in production distributed environments.
• Experience designing asynchronous microservice communication with Kafka, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, or similar event buses.
• Understanding of database internals, HTTP, encoding, regular expressions, and high-scale API optimization.
• Strong understanding of applied mathematics and the ability to integrate complex technical and machine learning concepts.
• Fluent spoken and written English required.
• Experience with peer code reviews and technical knowledge sharing in international engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker, or serverless infrastructure.
