Senior Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Remote-first, limited to candidates residing in Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Ukraine. Travel to Vilnius is required for onboarding, with travel costs covered.

Salary: €6,500–€9,000 gross per month, depending on experience, plus separate compensation for on-call participation.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate dependable backend services in Go.
• Develop trust-critical capabilities covering authentication, authorization, SSO, billing, audit trails, notifications, feature flags, and cloud pricing.
• Own features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, and production rollout.
• Debug complex production issues involving security-, money-, and trust-critical flows.
• Optimize high-load systems, databases, APIs, and high-volume time-series data processing.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams and contribute to product direction and backlog planning.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to design clean, maintainable abstractions.
• Production experience with Go or strong systems programming experience in a comparable language.
• Experience building or operating trust-critical systems at scale, such as authentication, authorization, billing, or financial data systems.
• Strong API design, debugging, optimization, query profiling, index design, and database performance-tuning skills.
• Experience operating high-load systems and hands-on Kubernetes experience.
• Strong written and verbal English; candidates must reside in one of the listed European countries.

Nice to have

• Multi-tenant identity systems and enterprise protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and SCIM.
• Cloud provider pricing or billing APIs, Spot availability tracking, or high-cardinality time-series systems.
• Kubernetes internals, CI/CD, DevOps, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.
