Cybersecurity Internship - Summer 2027

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; full-time and on-site. Summer internships run between May and June, with dates dependent on the selected student's university schedule.

Salary: $33.00 per hour

What you will do

• Review daily security alerts, classify findings, document actions, and maintain security event logs.
• Configure and improve security tools including Zscaler, CrowdStrike, ThreatLocker, Darktrace, and AlienVault.
• Organize sample logs and security-partner reports as evidence for an upcoming cybersecurity certification and audit.
• Upload reports and updates into compliance-tracking software.
• Own a summer project from planning through completion, such as a logging-gap report, incident-response guide, or dashboard.
• Work with the Cybersecurity Analyst, InfoSec Engineer, compliance manager, and external security partners.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate or graduate student in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field.
• Coursework or self-directed experience in at least two areas including networking, operating systems, identity and password management, incident response, or security monitoring.
• Comfort reading logs, working with spreadsheet data, and understanding basic scripting.
• Clear technical writing, strong organization, attention to detail, and willingness to ask questions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the full internship without visa sponsorship.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Progress toward CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification.
• Hands-on security-tool experience from a home lab, school club, or capture-the-flag competition.
• Exposure to Okta, Vanta, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, or CMMC.
• Basic scripting with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
