Junior Software Engineer (Full Stack)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bremen, Hamburg, or Berlin, Germany

What you will do

• Implement end-to-end features across Java/Spring Boot backend services and React or React Native interfaces.
• Build and consume RESTful API endpoints and integrate APIs into web and mobile applications.
• Develop and maintain UI components and screens based on designs from the Design team.
• Write clean code and automated tests, fix bugs, investigate root causes, and respond to code review feedback.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and senior engineers throughout planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience, including suitable internship, bootcamp, academic, or personal project experience.
• Fundamentals of Java, object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling, and Spring Boot REST controllers.
• Fundamentals of JavaScript or TypeScript and React, including components, props, state, hooks, and rendering API data.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, request and response structures, status codes, and basic data persistence.
• Basic Git proficiency, testing awareness, and willingness to learn across the stack and improve through feedback.

Nice to have

• React Native exposure.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Copilot or Cursor.
• Exposure to SQL, JPA/Hibernate, Jest, or additional frontend and backend testing.
