Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina; on-site five days per week

Annual base salary: $89,585–$124,950

What you will do

• Represent quality on cross-functional teams for new product development, value analysis, engineering changes, design specials, and related initiatives.
• Define, document, and integrate product and process quality requirements from concept through production launch.
• Lead or support APQP, control plans, PFMEA/DFMEA reviews, process validation, PPAP, first article inspection, capability studies, and measurement system analysis.
• Develop inspection plans, test plans, quality acceptance criteria, and production controls with engineering and operations.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Whys, and fishbone analysis.
• Monitor quality metrics, support suppliers and product qualification, manage launch and field issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, product quality, or project quality.
• Experience supporting cross-functional product or process projects in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of FMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA, capability analysis, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with new product introduction, product changes, validation, and production launch support.
• Proficiency with quality systems and documentation practices.
• Experience with electrical components and assemblies is highly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP/MRP, PLM, or quality management systems.
• ASQ certification or a similar credential.
