Research Scientist III (Computer Vision)

Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; onsite contract role

Salary: $70–$90 per hour on W-2

What you will do

• Implement time-domain, multimodal, and multisensory machine learning models by adapting algorithms from research literature.
• Develop multi-view geometry, tracking, and localization frameworks for prototyping computer vision and machine learning algorithms.
• Build systems for egocentric human behavior understanding, including gaze direction, head orientation, and speaker identification.
• Support research and development demonstrations by deploying algorithms to wearable devices such as smart glasses.
• Use AI-native development platforms and primarily code in Python and PyTorch, with limited C++.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in deep learning, machine learning, computer vision, computer science, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience developing and implementing machine learning, computer vision, or deep learning algorithms.
• At least 3 years of experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• At least 3 years of experience with Python and C++ scientific programming.
• Ability to independently build, train, and evaluate machine learning models and end-to-end prototypical learning systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross-group and cross-cultural collaboration.

Nice to have

• Current or in-progress PhD in deep learning, machine learning, computer vision, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
• Experience with motion capture systems such as OptiTrack or Vicon.
• Experience with eye-tracking systems such as Tobii.
• Experience with gaze estimation, head pose estimation, speaker identification or diarization, and human behavior analysis.
• Experience building tracking and localization systems such as SLAM.
