Sr Engineer I, Automation (Syncade MES)

Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, United States; onsite role supporting the RTP Bio site and manufacturing operations, including off-hours support as required.

Base compensation: $93,000.00–$120,750.00 per year.

What you will do

• Administer and serve as the subject matter expert for Syncade MES, including configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
• Support electronic batch record workflows, recipe configuration, exception handling, and the infrastructure required for manufacturing execution.
• Ensure system availability, performance, data integrity, security roles, user access, and audit trail compliance.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions for MES-related deviations.
• Execute change controls, system updates, enhancements, and validation deliverables including IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Support integrations and data flows between Syncade and DeltaV, PI, Infobatch, CMMS, Oracle, Veeva, and LIMS.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 5–8+ years of automation engineering experience in a regulated environment, preferably GMP.
• At least 3 years of experience with Syncade/MES infrastructure, workflows, electronic batch record design, and manufacturing process support.
• Strong understanding of GxP compliance, data integrity, and change control processes.
• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ability to work at the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina site and provide off-hours manufacturing support as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS integration and support.
• Experience with AVEVA PI System for data collection and analytics.
• Familiarity with Infobatch for batch reporting.
• Experience participating in system upgrades, technology transfers, or manufacturing modernization initiatives.
