What you will do

• Develop, train, validate, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models for E-PBF process microstructure prediction.
• Process and curate high-resolution BSE, XCT, image, and time-resolved process datasets through reproducible data pipelines.
• Connect scan strategies, process parameters, sensor observations, and microstructural features while evaluating uncertainty, repeatability, and generalization.
• Develop AI-enabled real-time prediction and closed-loop control approaches using sensor feedback.
• Integrate machine learning with data-acquisition and control workflows alongside engineering and experimental research collaborators.
• Mentor students, train group members, and contribute to manuscripts, proposals, technical reports, presentations, and research leadership.

Requirements

• Ph.D. required in computer science, engineering, materials science, data science, applied mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
• At least one year of research experience applying machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, scientific data analytics, or related methods.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and Keras.
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, data analytics, model evaluation, statistical analysis, and data visualization with matplotlib, seaborn, or Plotly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, multidisciplinary collaboration experience, and contributions to peer-reviewed publications.
• Employment is subject to a criminal history investigation and credential verification.
