Senior Research Engineer (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA, USA; on-site work from the Seattle offices is expected. Exceptions are considered case by case.

Base salary: $146,880–$220,320 per year, plus bonus plans.

What you will do

• Build and optimize infrastructure for LLM, multimodal, and agentic research, including training and inference pipelines, dataset curation, and large-scale preprocessing.
• Design, train, and evaluate vision-language models and agentic workflows involving tools, planning, memory, and long-horizon tasks.
• Scope research projects and prioritize experiments for high impact.
• Apply strong software engineering practices to research systems and connect cutting-edge work with production-quality products.
• Support open-source releases of models, datasets, public APIs, and technical reports.

Requirements

• 4+ years of ML infrastructure experience covering preprocessing, training, evaluation, inference, and deployment.
• Experience with end-to-end model development, including dataset construction, fine-tuning, profiling, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Experience with LLMs, mixture-of-experts or long-context models, and vision-language models.
• Knowledge of agentic systems, including tools, memory, and long-running workflows.
• Proficiency in Python and a major ML framework such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow; familiarity with cloud platforms and Docker.
• BS or MSc in a quantitative field or equivalent experience, plus at least 2 years of software development experience.
