What you will do

• Lead the discovery, evaluation, and advancement of cybersecurity technologies, applications, market opportunities, and growth initiatives.
• Analyze customer needs, market trends, competitive intelligence, technology developments, and application opportunities.
• Translate validated market opportunities into product requirements, development initiatives, business cases, and technology roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sales & Customer Service, Engineering Services, R&D, application leaders, and subject matter experts.
• Guide product strategy, customer adoption, market expansion, value propositions, and long-term commercial success.
• Educate internal and external audiences through mentoring, technical content, presentations, training, industry forums, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an applicable discipline.
• 15+ years of working knowledge and experience with electric power systems or equivalent transferable industry experience.
• Recognized leadership and expertise in cybersecurity, with knowledge of adjacent technologies, applications, products, and market segments.
• Subject matter expertise in cybersecurity architectures, standards, risk assessment, and security controls for OT, ICS, substations, critical infrastructure, and communications networks.
• Strong technical training, writing, documentation, speaking, customer service, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel as required by business needs; satisfactory background check and negative drug test required.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in an engineering discipline.
• Technical publications, presentations, or US patents related to SEL’s mission.
• Industry-recognized OT/ICS cybersecurity certification such as GICSP, GRID, or CISSP.
• Registered Professional Engineer license.
