Specialty Vehicle Service Support Specialist II (Automotive)

Location: Gaffney, South Carolina, US; onsite. Applicants may work in or relocate to Gaffney, but relocation assistance is not available.

Starting salary: $65,000–$83,000 USD per year, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Provide technical service, warranty, and field support to customers, dealers, fleets, and service personnel.
• Investigate customer and product problems, identify corrective actions, and communicate resolutions across departments and the service network.
• Maintain vehicle service records with accurate documentation of problems, corrective actions, and warranty commitments.
• Assist with service bulletins, campaigns, technical updates, and reviews of technical literature.
• Travel as needed to identify and resolve customer and product issues and provide customer assistance.
• Support continuous improvement of call center processes and provide coverage for a 24/7 call center, including some holidays.

Requirements

• Experience with conflict resolution and technical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of automotive or medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicle electrical systems and controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and CAD drawings and understand multiplexing and CAN communication networks.
• Strong written and verbal communication, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze data for metrics and customer experience improvement; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship and applications from existing visa holders are not available.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in automotive technology with 2–4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Automotive or truck dealership experience.
• Experience with heavy equipment or automotive troubleshooting and knowledge of automotive and truck dealer network operations.
