Focus on resolving cross-disciplinary integration challenges, performing tolerance and structural analyses, and supporting prototype builds and production readiness.

What you will do

  • Lead mechanical integration of aircraft subsystems from concept through production.
  • Develop installation architecture, equipment packaging, mounting solutions, and routing for electrical and fluid systems.
  • Design machined, composite, fabricated, and sheet metal assemblies and create installation, assembly, and part drawings.
  • Perform tolerance analyses, structural hand calculations, and engineering trade studies.
  • Coordinate integration during prototype builds, aircraft assembly, manufacturing, and production issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft, aerospace, defense, robotics, or complex electromechanical systems.
  • Experience leading mechanical integration of aircraft subsystems or complex assemblies through production release.
  • Advanced proficiency with NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or an equivalent CAD system.
  • Experience with PLM systems, engineering data, product structures, BOMs, drawing releases, and configuration baselines.
  • Knowledge of aircraft installation practices, EWIS, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, or ECS routing, GD&T, ASME Y14.5, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing support.

Nice to have

  • Aircraft integration experience on UAV, military, commercial, eVTOL, or autonomous aircraft programs.
  • Experience with FEA, structural hand calculations, margin assessments, or preliminary stress analysis.
  • Hands-on experience supporting aircraft builds, production, testing, or hardware validation.
  • Experience managing technical scope, schedules, risks, suppliers, or subsystem work packages.
  • Familiarity with aircraft-level requirements, interface control, and configuration management.
